DIY Turmeric Ginger Shots

Ginger shots have become a popular purchase at many vegan cafes and juice bars, but for me, paying $5 for an ounce of ginger juice seems sort of silly, especially with how cheap and easy it is to make them! In case you didn’t know, ginger is incredible for the detoxification of the body. Ginger is a powerful antioxidant, keeping cell damaging (including skin cells) free radicals at bay. Ginger also helps get your digestion moving, an important part of any detox. In this recipe, I also added Turmeric for its incredible anti-inflammatory properties. If you can find fresh Turmeric, it’s ideal, but in this recipe, I went for the easier to find ground variety.

 

So here is a super easy recipe for Turmeric Ginger Shots! All you need is a few cheap ingredients, a blender and a strainer.

 

Turmeric Ginger Shot

 ¼ cup ginger root, chopped (skin on is okay)

The juice of 3 lemons

¼ cup purified water

¼ tsp ground turmeric

A pinch of Cayenne pepper

 

  • Add all ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until smooth and liquified.

  • Strain into a glass and enjoy!
