The holidays are a magical time of love togetherness, and family. They also are a time of stress, depression, arguments, and eating way too much pie! Below are my top 3 contributors to holiday skin problems, and how to avoid them.

Dry Skin from Traveling

Whether its on a plane or in a car, our skin gets super dehydrated when we travel (not to mention this is one of the driest winters in a long time). My solution? As hectic as these times can be, keep hydrated inside and out. Drink lots of water, tea, and non-sugary drinks. Eat soup! Also, stick to your skincare routine on the road. Make sure you slather your skin in hydration (like my Pumpkin & Carrot Antioxidant Oil) before you go and on the trip, regularly using a toning mist (like my Rose Essential Toning Mist) is a fantastic solution to staying hydrated throughout your day.

Breakouts caused by Holiday Eating/Drinking

With the holidays gatherings comes the holiday meals, mostly consisting of rich foods we would not normally eat everyday. There's also a chance that uncle Frank’s political views might encourage you to pour that 3rd glass of wine. My best advice to you is in the time leading up to these holiday gatherings and after, eat super healthy (think dark, leafy greens), as well as drinking smoothies and fresh green juices.

Inflammation caused by Holiday Stress

The holidays are a joyous time, but they can also be a stressful time too. Each day during this time, set aside at least 10 minutes for a mindful practice. That can mean meditation, yoga, going for a run, or reading a book. I'm also a big fan of taking Ashwagandha daily, an Ayurvedic herb used to reduce stress and anxiety. You can also massage your skin nightly with a Kansa wand, known to calm inflammation and massage all that stress that’s been building up in your face. Are the breakouts already there? Book yourself a facial! Self care is most important during this time.  Find an organic facial near me
