Quick + Easy Vegan "bone" broth

Bone broth has some pretty amazing health benefits, but what if you’re a vegetarian or vegan? This is how I came up with this recipe for an immune boosting bone broth. Though there’s obviously no collagen (no vegan alternatives there), this broth is  sure to nurse you back from whatever ails you. Garlic and ginger are both amazing immunity boosters. I also love the anti-inflammatory properties on turmeric and the multiple health benefits to Miso and Spirulina. Gluten or soy free? There are Miso’s on the market that are chickpea based or rice based, so look out for them!

 

Quick + Easy Vegan “Bone” Broth

1 tsp coconut oil or ghee

1 Tbsp ginger, minced

4 cloves of garlic, minced

1 Tbsp Miso

1 tsp Turmeric

¼ tsp Spirulina Powder

¼ tsp Cayenne Pepper

4-6 cups filtered water

Himalayan Sea Salt to taste

 

  • Sauté the garlic and ginger in a pan until they become fragrant but before color on the garlic.

  • and water, then miso paste and bring to a boil

  • stir in turmeric, spirulina, and cayenne pepper then lower to a simmer.

  • cook for 15 mins, add salt to taste.
